About Barcelona

1992 was a good year for Barcelona. This was the year the Olympic Games were held in the Catalonian capital, thus drawing millions of people from all over the world to it. Since ‘the games’ brought so much attention to this amazing city it hasn’t looked back as the number of people visiting each year has risen steadily over the last decade.

The thing which baffles me is why wasn’t Barcelona so popular with travellers before these Olympics? Thanks to the work of one Antoni Gaudi, it is home to some of the most unique buildings in the world. There is so much to see and do you won’t know where to start. There aren’t many livelier places than Barcelona either, with a very young population who party into the wee hours of the morning.

While all this is around the city centre, there are innumerable places to retreat to when the hustle and bustle begins to get too much for you. So even though many people have this notion that three days is enough in any city, a week wouldn’t be enough here.
